Willy Adames makes his qualifying offer decision official

One of the biggest offseason storylines for the Brewers this year involves their shortstop Willy Adames. Adames is set to enter free agency, and there are sure to be many teams that will try their hand in getting one of the better shortstops in the league. However, the Brewers have offered their first ever qualifying offer to Adames on November 4th. The qualifying offer carries a $21.05 million salary for the 2025 season, which would’ve made Adames the second-highest paid player on the Brewers, behind Christian Yelich. However, Adames has decided to reject the qualifying offer, and remain a free agent. Adames was expected to reject the offer as he seeks a long-term deal worth $200 million in free agency. The Brewers are highly unlikely to be able to give him that kind of contract. Should Adames sign with another team in free agency for more than $50MM, then the Brewers would receive a 2025 Draft pick after the end of the first round and before Competitive Balance Round A. Should the Brewers attempt to bring Adames back on a new contract? Or, should the Brewers let him walk and more than likely receive a high draft pick? Let us know in the comments below.
